Observation of World No Tobacco Day 2022 at All Saints School Serchhip

Theme: "Tobacco: Threat to Our Environment"

31st May which was a day to inform the public on the dangers of using tobacco, the business practices of tobacco companies, what WHO is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic, and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations. 

This day was also observed at All Saints School, Serchhip, Mizoram to warn the young adults about the dangers and effects of prolong uses of tobacco. This programme was presided by  All Saints School Headmistress Sister Shati.With Teachers & National Tobacco Control Programme Staff Serchhip

Dr. Lalngaihawmi Chhangte District Nodal Officer gave a PowerPoint presentation on the theme being "Tobacco: Threat to Our Environment ", highlighting the devastating consequences of tobacco products throughout its lifecycle, how tobacco pollutes the planet and damages the health of all people. Students also gave pledge to abstain  from ever doing or taking tobacco. The students also had a quiz competition under the guidance of Miss K.Hmingthansangi, District Consultant. After the programme Kick the butt in the Trash rally was held from All Saints School to IOC Square(kawn), where cigarette butt and trash was collected from the roadside by the students.Presentation on WNTD Theme "Tobacco: Threat to Our Environment" by Dr. Lalngaihawmi Chhangte, District Nodal Officer,NTCP.
